@Edie Veronin You can act as a helper from the FamilySearch Family Tree app on your iPad. Here is how:
- Open the Family Tree app.
- In the bottom right corner, click More.
- On the left panel, click Help.
- Click Help Someone.
- You'll see 2 tabs: Username (which comes up by default) and Full Name. Pick one, enter the info, then click Start in the top right of the box.

Thanks! But I see that it only works if I have their helper number, and either their user name or full name and birthdate. not nearly as convenient as simply choosing someone from the menu of those who have already accepted/ been added, which is what I generally do on the website

@Edie Veronin I was assuming you were just wanting to go in as someone's helper. If you want to help someone already on your planner, you can use the app to get to the planner.
- Open the Family Tree app.
- In the bottom right corner, tap More.
- On the left panel, tap Help.
- Tap Consultant Planner.
It opens your default browser (probably Safari on an iPad) to the sign-in page for FamilySearch.org. Sign in and you'll see the familiar interface. On the left, under People You are Helping, tap Added or Accepted. Tap a name and you're on your way. Works great.

@Edie Veronin
.
Just a suggestion.
.
Another solution is, as you are using an "iPad'/"Tablet" (with a bigger screen than a Mobile Phone), DO NOT try to use the "Family Tree"/"FamilySearch" 'Mobile' Application on your "iPad"/"Tablet"; whereas, use the "Family Tree"/"FamilySearch" 'Computer Web' version, NOT with the 'Google' "Chrome" Browser (because, that tends to revert to the 'Mobile' Application); but, use, the next best, 'Modizalla' "FireFox" Browser.
.
Give it a go.
.
I hope that this helps.
