Hi All.

I'm looking for records on my husbands paternal and maternal ancestors. His grandfather and grandmother both came here from Greece and I only have the names of their parents. I tried to find records on them but I have little to go on and their names have been spelled differently on some of the US records.

My husbands name is John P. Rompon. His paternal grandmother is Theodora Kossiavelou is from Magoulian, Gortynias Greece. Her parents are listed (on her US marriage record and naturalization record) as Nicolaos Kossiavelou and Janoula Politis.

His paternal grandfather is John P. Rompon and his parents are Panagiotis Rompon and Demetro Exiarliopoulous (also spelled as . Panagiotis Rompon home was Horemi Village, Megalopoli, Arkadhia, Peloponnisos, Greece as listed by his son, John P. Rompon on his naturalization documents. There was some indication from his family that his family name Rompon was actually anglicized at some point but I have not found any US records confirming that.

I'd like to find any information about any of these relatives. I've found nothing on Ancestry or Family Search so far.

Thanks for your help. Marian

Here is the link to the FamilySearch Wiki for Greece. You might find the records there. https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Greece_Genealogy
