Where are instructions for adding yourself and family?
I added myself as a person using my name as it is now, my married name. Then when I added my mom it ended up with adding her child and giving her 2 children, both are me. I could not find instructions on how to add myself and my family without creating this mess. What do I do now?
Thank you in advance.

You can call FamilySearch Support during the day (during their open hours), and select the option in the voice menu that offers help with the Family Tree. Their number if you're in the United States is 866-406-1830.
To fix your name:
- Open up your full Person Page.
- Under the Vitals section, click the little "edit" pencil just out to the right side of your name. That will open up a box where you can edit your last name.
- In the Last Names box, simply change your last name to your birth last name, not your married name.
- In the Reason This Information Is Correct box, just type in a simple explanation such as "Corrected my last name to reflect my birth name instead of my married name."
- Click the SAVE box at the bottom right corner of that Name correction window.
Please come back here and let us know it all got fixed. It'd be nice to know you're all set to continue adding to your family tree. Be aware that living people you're entering in the tree at this point CANNOT be seen by anybody else for privacy reasons. Only YOU can see those living people you enter, including your own name and information.
Hope this helps.
