Transcription/translation assistance - military recruit?
Good morning - I am trying to identify where August, son of Olof Larsson, born 27 November 1862 at Frändefors, Älvsborgs län, may have disappeared to. In 1894 he was listed as obefintliga, and moved to the back of the household examination book with the "missing" parishioners of Frändefors.
The two previous examination books suggest where August might have gone, but I need assistance to transcribe and translate them correctly.
Frändefors (P) AI:30 (1886-1890) Image 58 / Page 464 (v3969.b58.s464) states he is beväringsman A[?] - which I believe means he is regarded an army recruit?
Frändefors (P) AI:28 (1881-1885) Image 52 / Page 458 (v3967.b52.s458) is more difficult for me - but I'm hoping this is a date of possible conscription or training in 1882?
I appreciate any help you can provide.
Jules

The 1881-1885 record states that he received an "arb(etare) att(est) 12 May (18)82". That is basically a certificate allowing him to go to another parish on a temporary basis for work. The word after the date, in parentheses, is possibly where he went to, but I can't make it out. At any rate, he doesn't remain there because he returns to Frändefors and is in following household examination records in 1886-1890 and doesn't go missing until 1894.
A "beväringsman" is a conscript. This article on Hans Högman's website may be helpful (especially the section under "Beväringen-a forerunner to the Universal Conscription System"): http://www.hhogman.se/conscription-system-sweden.htm.

Thank you Norm, as always very informative. Thank you for explaining how I muddled the two pieces of information.
