Witnesses to children's baptisms - relations?
In Kleinemeer, there are 4 children baptized in the Catholic church records as children of:
Joannes IJsberg and as Jan Beekman
AND
Anna Margaretha van Eik and as Margarita Van Eik
Witnesses to the 4 baptisms were:
Andries Pieter Mairie or Moine
Tibe Jans
Siouke Jans
Anna Elisabeth Beekmans
It would appear that Anna Elisabeth Beekmans would be related to the father, Joannes or Jan Beekman.
Is it likely that the other witnesses are also related? I'm looking for the maiden name of Anna Margaretha ________ van Eik. Perhaps it is Jans?

Witnesses can be related, but this is not mandatory. If you look closely enough in the lists of marriages and births you will see that sometimes one of the scribe's acts as witness, and some witnesses are witness by profession. They are just lingering around at the townhouse ,until they are asked to-...for a small fee. So you will see a recurrency in names, sometimes they have an official title mentioned as abbrevation before the name.Back to your case.
Her maiden name = Anna Margerita Van Eik (here in Flanders i use capitals in all these instances , not so in Holland)(depends on locality). The years surrounding these entries are all around 1770 etc,and seem to be the first and last mentionings in these doc's. The only thing i could find is the location where she should be born
as Pekel; which is short for Oude Pekela. Next to this location Nieuwe Pekela also exists , and they were only separated between 1810 and 1990 and then merged again. But given the timeframe in the 1775 area= Oude Pekela, so basically you will have to search churchbooks and censussnaps and civil records of that time-bracket; also , in retrospective for time,go back in time to find her birth earlier on.
