    Help with a surname

    Ali.M. Pili
    Ali.M. Pili ✭✭
March 3, 2023 edited March 3, 2023 in Social Groups

This damaged document on the right side of the page seems to be hiding the first surname of the mother of the groom--Rita ________[?] Gonzales. I would love some other opinions about what this might be. According to the naming pattern her surname should be Salazar, but that is clearly not the name under the ink blot, but what is it?!

Below, I have printed illegible in bolded and italicized letters in brackets below where the missing surname is. This is what I extracted starting with the end of line 24:

    "contrajo Francisco Pa

dron Salazar soldado licenciado [illegible] resi

dente de Granada [?] natural del Hierro

una delas Canarias hijo leg[itim]o de Blas y

de Rita [illegible] Gonzales con Juana Cuba

natural de Gran Canaria hija leg[itim]a

de Francisco y de Barbara Marichal"

    Thanks for any suggestions!
