My great great grand parents told their sons and grandsons they were drafted from the small town of Martellago /Venezia Province to fight at the border with the AH Empire.
Their immigration travel expenses to Brazil (we possess the original passaport) were financed by their military activity. The two people we are sure were drafted and came back are Valentino Meggiato born in 1866 and his younger brother Angelo Meggiato. But we think others might have been held captive in Austria or even died there. Is there any data you can share and help my family history research,please?
