Negitive Comments on person's memory page from a non-related person.

There needs to be a way to have persons who are not related or a direct descendents from posting negitive comments and observations about deseased individuals dating back to the 1840's.

What positive purpose could this possibly serve. Very unhappy with this person for thinking she should has the right to judge the family when she has no direct relationship to this individual. I have asked her to take it down, but she says "I judge gatekeeping family histories and perpetuating myths of perfection that damage descendants." I believe she is totally out of line.

The histories written are by my great aunt. I am a great-great granddaughter of the woman whose page the negitive comments are written on.

I spoke with a family search consultant through 1(866) 406-1830. She suggested I send this feedback.

You can report abuse within the tree. It's not an easy or quick process, but offensive material is sometimes removed and the person posting the offending remarks can be banned or restricted from future posting.
