Hi.

I have finally found my ancestor, Antonio Picone but I am don't know Italian so can't read this. I would love if someone could translate this into English. In particular, I am looking for Antonio Picone's parents and any other genealogy clues on it such as if the parents were also married and born in Manacalzati, Avellino.

I will translate for you the genealogically relevant parts. You'll notice that a future marriage to Alessandrina Del Mauro in 1899 is mentioned on the right-hand margin, so do confirm that that matches your prior knowledge about this ancestor.

It's very likely all his ancestors would be from Manocalzati. That said, some people did move around. Marriage was always done in the bride's hometown, so if ever you fail to find a marriage record where you expect to find it, a trick is to search for the woman's death record to see where she was born, and that will tell you where to then search for the marriage.

Translation:

17 Jun 1875, Manocalzati: Luigi Picone, age 46, farmer, resident in Manocalzati, declares that at 4:26am today, in the house at Via Montefalcione, from Gaetana Visconti, age 35, his wife, was born a male child whom he named Antonio

I actually have him marrying Concetta Carbone so I might not have the correct person. This would surprise me because I have his manifest showing 1875/1876 as his birth.

I believe I found his wife Concetta.

Is there any way if you can tell me the relevant information on this? Looking to verify this is the Concetta who was married to Antonia Picone. I have her last name as Carbone. Born approx 1870-1883.

If your ancestors married in Italy, you should first search for their marriage record before attempting to find birth records. The marriage record will provide their ages, birthplaces, and parents' names, making the finding of the birth records so much simpler.

The death you linked is of a Concetta Picone widow of Luigi Cerullo, so again, I don't believe this is the correct person. Note that in Southern Italian records, women are never listed under their married names, so if your ancestor was Concetta Carbone, she'd be under that name on her death record too.

It turns out the birth record in 1875 is correct as the age and parents' names are an exact match. Note that to be remarrying Concetta Carbone in 1911, his first wife Alessandrina Del Mauro must have died sometime before 1911.

Note that civil registration in Southern Italy commenced in 1809, not 1866. Better yet, for Avellino province, it's all freely online on Antenati, see: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/search-registry/?localita=Manocalzati

With patience, you can build a tree back to any ancestors of yours who not only married after 1809, but even those who married before 1809 but died after 1809, plus their two respective parents' names. This will normally take you well into the early 18th century, and all entirely online and free. Research beyond this point is another story, however!
