I need the marriage of Jens Povelson and Maren Hansdatter translated. There is a question about a child christened the same day. I would very much like the entire entry for Jens Povelson transcribed or translated.

The record is dated 6 past trinitatis.

Jens is from Helsingør and she is from Farum. They were engaged 6 post trinit and married 20 post trinit. The rest is just rhetoric saying they are free to marry.

it states that Jens Povelsen and Maren Hansdatter were engaged 6 p. trin 1742 which is 1 July 1742 and copulate (married) Dom. 20 p. trin. 20 p. trin which is 7 October 1742. The rest is saying they are free to marry.

    Tanner,

I have a Jens Povelsen, no mother name with a child christened in Melby, Frederiksborg 6 post trinit, Farum and Helsingor are quite away from Melby, is there any chance, this is the same Jens? I was hoping the marriage might have a clue. Jackie

It is possible but unlikely. They would have to have gotten married in one church and then traveled to the other church for a baptism. I would say it is different people.
