Family Search Images
Every second new digital images are added to FamilySearch. This allows access to records without waiting for them to be indexed or even catalogued. You can find these images under the main Search heading "Images". The new version (shown below) is now available, but you can toggle back and forth with the old version. Click on the "How to Get Started" link if you are not familiar with how to search these records. Give it a try! You may be missing out on valuable resources to help in your research.

This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for - except the "How to Get Started" article didn't help me.
I'm sure that I heard in a presentation on FS that it's possible to see images that are very newly scanned - like even last week or last month. They may not be cataloged yet, but one could at least see (for example) that from Ukraine, Mykolaiv Archive, 1000 images of metrical records have been added. Then it's up to me to decide if I want to look at all those images that aren't categorized/cataloged in any more detail than that.
How does one find that? When I search on Ukraine and choose Mykolaiv, everything listed there shows being available in 2020. But I'm pretty sure that FamilySearch was filming in Mykolaiv last summer (per a presenter a the FEEFHS conference...I was in awe that filming continued despite the war). So there should be new images available even if they're not cataloged yet.

These two collections for Mykolaiv have been added in the last six months:
You can search for Mykolaiv or Ukraine in "recently added" Images (from the search dropdown menu-then click on View recently added images). You can set the date for how far back to search.
