The book has a map of each county showing major towns and cities only.

True - but its better than nothing - it was added to comments as a lovely historical book of maps - if all location data (townlands etc) were added to these maps there would be no way of discerning what was what. We also added the "Maps" toggle at the top of the screen to allow people to delve into greater detail by searching for places. Then there's also Irish Townlands online which is about as good as it gets by way of maps & locations.
