Is this possible?
@Darris Williams This is the web site that has a picture that resembles how my Dad looks today. https://biography.wales/article/s-DAVI-DAV-1745#?c=0&m=0&s=0&cv=0&manifest=https%3A%2F%2Fdamsssl.llgc.org.uk%2Fiiif%2F2.0%2F4673253%2Fmanifest.json&xywh=225%2C-565%2C1226%2C1230. Family search is connecting John Davies with a David Jno David. I found 2 Navel Records using this name that puts the age on the pension at 23 years old and the birth of the individual 31 July 1779 and retired in Neath, Glamogan, Wales. According to the wiki on apprenticeship the candidate may be placed within 40 miles of residence. The 1841 and 1851 census is within 40 miles and a Smith Striker would be an apprentice to a black smith. If this is a match their would be 4 generations of David Davies. I do not have a death record of Thomas William Davis older brother David Davies who according to family joined the church but remained in Wales.Considering Aberporth and Neath are both port cities could this possibly be a match? The parish in Aberporth is traditionally Catholic and the one in Llangybi maybe non conformist or of the Church of England and 23 miles from Aberporth. Also within the the 40 miles of apprenticeship placement.
