I am just wondering what it says about No. 71 Sven Ekelund at the end of his time in the cavalry on the muster roll. Is anyone able to read and translate? Thanks so much.

    Hi @karenrasmussen

This is what I am reading: Karlen får(?) afsked med dubbel underhald. Hustrun approberas.

I believe that translates something like: The man gets discharge with double maintenance. The wife is approved.

@Ulrich Neitzel could probably give a better translation and more insight to what it means, but I think this is the gist of the note.

Norm's reading and interpretation is almost perfect - the only correction: it's not the wife who is approved, but the horse 😉. The original text reads: Karlen får afsked med dubbelt underhåld. Hästen approberas.

@Norm Baker @Ulrich Neitzel Thank you so much for your help on this comment. I am happy to hear that he finished his career on an up note. (a new trend for this family). And that is horse is still in good condition or at least approved. Thanks again.
