Menton - Help tracking a family member's last know address
Dear All,
I have a major brick wall I'm trying to break. Pinchos Nierenstein (my 2x great grandfather) left his wife in Russia and moved to Menton France. I know this only through photos I have of him and family folklore. I would really love to find where he is buried and get a death notice for him.
How would one go about finding this as he doesn't come up anywhere else. His children were all born in Dvinsk but there is no documentation as most of it was destroyed in the wars.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If Pinchos Nierenstein moved to Menton, France, I would search in France first. You don't mention a time period in which he lived. He may have died in Menton or may have left some descendants in France.
Geopatronyme shows one mention of the name Nierenstein in Paris between 1891 and 1915. I am not saying that name is related to your ancestor, but it could be. `
Menton is in the south.
France has very excellent births, marriage, deaths records. If you could find his death certificate in France, you would hit the jackpot.
The civil records of Menton in Familysearch stop in 1860.
Right now, it is not possible to search the digitized records of Alpes Maritimes because of a cyberattack. It may take a few weeks to reestablish things.
Try a search for Menton's records in a few weeks at the above address.
