My great great grandmother GDTP-H2L Anna Maria Elisabeth Mithöfer was in a family of 10 children . Her mother died in child birth with the 10th child. Her father died the next year. This leaves you with 8 minor children and a 17 yr old girl and a 20 yr old boy. There are no grandparents. Are ways to find out what happened to the orphans?

@MrYeliab My understanding of the practices of German Lutherans is that godparents named at the baptism of a child are responsible for caring for the child when the parents cannot. Your great, great, grandmother died apparently in childbirth with her last child, Jobst Heinrich. The godparents listed on his baptism are Jobst Heinrich Mönch and Johan Heinrich Steinbruegger. Godparents were either relatives (usually siblings of the parents) or were very close friends. It is likely that the "orphans" in this family were taken in by family members.
