In Ringebu, Oppland, Norway in 1734 I find a burial record for Maren Larsdatter Opsalstuen. The death date I think is 1st May, burial is 12 Sept. The line after her name is what I need help understanding. Looks like it tells me the age. Could it be 1 year less 3 months? (on right hand page, right hand column about 1/2 way down the page)

https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/9263/44917/1

I have a Mari Larsdatter Opsalstuen christened in Aug 1733: GFX3-PR8. Looking for her death record as she has a sister born with the same name in 1740. If this gives me the age, I can establish if it is this person.

Thanks SO much!

These entries do not record a death date - only the burial date is given. The May 1st date is for the burial of a person in the left-hand column.

I believe that this record reads: "Maren Larsdaatter Opsalstuen, 1 year short by 3 weeks old, buried the 12th September". In other words, in 3 weeks, she would have been 1 year old.

The entry just below this one (for Maren Joahnnisdaatter) is very similar. In it the word "uger = weeks" is more clearly written. It says she was "3 aar ringere ved 3 uger g(amme)l = 3 years short 3 by weeks old".
