@fricibacsi Please see the translation below:
Baptism
23 March 1776
In Zakliczyn in Galicia (Poland), Josephus Petrus de Alcantara, son of Laurentius Korman, drag (I think “drag” stands for “Dragoner," dragoon, i.e a mounted soldier) and his wife Theresia. Godparents: Josephus Koczorkowitz, Francisca Ziganin, citizens.
R.D. Andreas Brochowalsky, priest there.

@KamillaKovacs3 Imho, if he were a dragoon, there'd be mention of his regiment. If he was no longer active, that would have been noted, too.

@StH31 In the second record (30th January), the father's occupation is shown in a similar manner, i.e. "Rittmeister" (cavalry captain), and there is no mention on the regiment either. In the last record (18th August), the father's occupation is shown as "Capellmeister" (military bandleader of an infantry-regiment).
In most of the other records, the father's occupation is shown as "Drag.", therefore, in my opinion, "Dragoner" (dragoon - a member of any cavalry regiment) would make sense in this context. Moreover, I clearly remember from earlier records that many of @fricibacsi 's ancestors were in the army.

@KamillaKovacs3 Highly unusual not to mention the regiment. But the Rittmeister does lend credibility to the theory, I admit. (Though, the Capellmeister – by himself – could as well be any other kind of orchestra or choir leader. Given neighbouring entries, it is unlikely, you're right.)
