Hi; Portrush - know it well. Can I suggest the use of the county pages links on the community home screen. Be aware that Portrush lies in both County Antrim and Co L'Derry. Be aware of that one! That will affect your search. Double it in fact. Within the county pages for these counties is a link to Bill Macafee. Use his sites first . His research will save you an awful lot of legwork as such. His accuracy is second to none. Have a look at that and if you're still stuck let us know and we'll have a much closer look. I would hazard you'll come across your family on his site. There are other sources too such as the 1831 census scraps but these only mention the head and number of people in the house and they may not be included in the scraps. But they might! Have a good look on the county pages and come back to us asap

Some possible goodish news - Ballywillan, Portrush COI records start at 1825 for marriages. The downside is that theyre located in the Public Record Office in Belfast. Now what we'll need is someone to attend. We should be able to find the marriage of the parents assuming they married there.
BALLYWILLIN, COS ANTRIM AND LONDONDERRY C.I. Ballywillin (Connor diocese) Baptisms, 1826-71; marriages, 1825-44; MIC583/2; CR1/34; burials, 1827-71; vestry minutes, 1710 MIC1/287 55 and 1811-91; preachers’ book, 1847 1901; account book, 1827-31, which contains mostly household and farm accounts of the incumbent.
I'm making a big assumption that they were COI/Episcopalian. Can you confirm this. Looking at the dates the film would need a close scrutiny as you could easily go back 2 more generations from it if the data is there. On the other hand the local library MIGHT have a copy. That would make life easier. Looking at Bill Macafees website the library does indeed have the films. If you can wait we could have a look but it may take a while. If you prefer there are two pay websites Emerald ancestors & roots ireland but as mentioned these will cost and may have no relevant information. I think you can conduct a cursory free search.
Do take a long look at Bill Macafees site. And you can save most if not all of his extensive files. Will be in touch.
