    Through understanding the historical information, the government, and the people you can decide where to start your research. Did you know there are 8 groups indigenous to the area? Maybe your ancestors fall into one of these groups.

    There are eight groups of indigenous Sonorans: the Mayo, Yaqui, Pima, Seri, Cucapá, Papago and Guarijio peoples are native to the Sonora region.
