I have a need for translation help for ArkivDigital: Östervåla (C, U) AI:2 (1757-1764) Image: 178 Page: 342

Eric Andersson and his wife Margaretha and their children. there are some dates but I'm not sure they are the birth dates. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what this record says about the family.

did Margareta die? did Eric marry Karin, Is Pig. Margatha a dotter? Are the dates birth dates? What is the significance of the date 1746 in the 4th column? and the notes in the 4th column.

Thank you for helping me solve this puzzle.

The headings are in Latin and heavily abbreviated which makes it difficult. However from context, the dates in the third column appear to be birth dates except where there is a "d" before a full date. Those are christening dates. I tested this with the son Olof. His christening appears here: Östervåla (C, U) C:3 (1735-1779) Image 153 / Page 149 on the right-hand page 4th entry down.

Anders notes are interesting because it has a birth year of 1747 and a specific date in 1762. My best guess is that the second date is a confirmation date as he would have been fifteen.

The fourth entry heading appears to say "matrm qu. & ubi" which would translate "marriage: when and where."

The last column on the left-hand is for deaths. The first part says "Mort" which translates to death.

It is unclear what the situation is between the two Margaretas and Karin. However the death record for Karin might tell you more.

The dates on the second page are examination dates.

    Hope this helps!

Karin is Eric's mother, this is explained better in the previous household record for Eric and his family. As far as I can tell, Margareta didn't die. I'm not sure how the second Margareta fits in, due to the lack of information listed by her name. As far as I can tell from the two household records together, this is how the family is outlined.
