Help finding records from Luster 1887-1891

I'm tracking the family of Anders Hansen MY77-214. He marries Christina Ingebritsdatter in 1886 and I can find the marriage record in both FS and at DA: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/327/pv00000006989318

I drilled down from Vestlandet, Sogn og Fjordane, to Luster. I can also find this family in the 1891 census using the same drill:

I can't find the birth records for the 3 sons listed in the census and in FS. There are NO records coming up in DA for the years 1887-1891 for Luster. I read the wiki article and can't find any info about records lost for that time period. Are they in a different location for those years? Anybody know?

You are correct. The most recent Ministerialbok for Luster on the Digitalarkivet site ends in 1886. There is only one Klokkerbok for the parish and it covers 1903 to 1930. Since the Klokkerbok is labeled A1, there were apparently no Klokkerbok for that parish prior to 1903.

There are several possibilities here. One is that the book starting in 1887 was lost. Or it may be that the parish never got around to turning it over the archives. Or maybe when the microfilming was being done there was too recent of information in that book to allow it to be filmed.

In any event, I would suggest that you contact the archives and ask. The other books are all stored at the Statsarkivet i Bergen.
