Where was the Reppen farm located?
I have 4 studio photographs of Ole Reppen and his wife, as well as of their son, Ole. One is a wedding photo and the one of baby Ole looks to be around a year old. All the photos were taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They must have taken been between 1896 and 1902, the time my grandmother was working as a nurse/nanny. The Reppen's are not on the 1900 US Census and there is a note on the back of one that says they had returned to Norway. I would like very much to return these photographs family. There are dozens of Reppen trees on Ancestry, perhaps if the farm could be narrowed down, I could find a family.

I haven't a clue. All I have is the name to go with the photos, as noted in my message. According to Family Search, Nordland seems to be a good prospect. I'll send a few "feelers" out to some Ancestry trees with Nordland references. Thanks for replying.

Put the family in FamilyTree and then link the pictures to their pages. Then if the descendants ever try to research this line they will see the pictures.

Good idea - a FamilySearch tree or Ancestry? or both? Thanks

Both will give them greater exposure.

In the 1900 census for Nes, Vest-Agder there is an Ole Olsen living on the Reppen farm.
He was born 1865 in Nes and is married to Anna Elisabet (??) born 1870 Aa, Lyngdal (Vest-Agder)
They have a daughter Jenny Olsdatter, born 1895 in America.

In 1910 you get exact birth dates and Jenny A Reppen is born 1895-08-18 in Mineapolis, Min.

So I don't know how your baby picture is labelled/marked?
If it just says Ole Reppen on the back it might be a picture of Baby Jenny but there seems to be time in this scenario for a boy, Ole, born in 1896-1899 but did not survive infancy.
I think this is probably "your" family at least. Need to check the parish records in Norway for emigration and see if Ole married Anna Elisabet in Norway or America. We have no last name for Anna E yet :-(

At the confirmation of Jenny Amanda Reppen 26 Sep 1909 in Nes, Flekkefjord it appears Anna Elisabeth's last name is Olesdatter so that might help locate her in Aa, Lyngdal

Add the marriage picture to 9VZT-SNM Ole Olsen Reppen
I think the baby picture is probably Jenny Amanda 9VZT-SFQ

Yes! I have that one as well. So this is Ole Olsen Reppen and Anna Elisabet. And, yes, I'm sure you're correct that the baby is Jenny. I'll add the wedding and baby photos.
My grandmother is Bendicta Marie Pederson 1873-1964 (in my great grandfather's writing: Bendigtte Marie Salvesdatter Loga). Makes sense that the Reppen family would have been from Nes, Flekkefjord, Vest-Agder, as her parents were from the same parish.
Salve Pederson and Severine Berntsdatter are my g grands and settled in Preston Twp (Blair), WI. Severine died March 14, 1876 giving birth to their second child, a daughter named Regine. I've searched the ELCA Trempealeau Valley Church records for my grandmother's birth, but couldn't locate it. Her sister, Regine's, is there, but (if I'm reading it correctly) it incorrectly states that her mother's name as Regine, not Severine. However, Severine's death record is correctly stated as being the next day, March 14, 1876.
I would appreciate any information you could provide regarding Regine. I 'think' I found a confirmation record for her, June 14, 1891, but cannot be sure. I would love to know if she married and had a family.
Sometime after her mother's death, my grandmother lived with a cousin, Sarah Salvesdatter and Birchard Olsen (1880 census). I haven't been able to find her confirmation record. She had a child out of wedlock in 1897, thus the reason for being in Minneapolis. And married my grandfather, Freeman Deloss Mitchell, Feb 19, 1903 at Blackduck, MN.
Now you know more than you needed to know to answer my Reppen question, but please know that I appreciate this FS community feed so very much!
Thank you. Margie Dilworth
