Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico
I am looking for my great grandmother's parent's information. My great grandmother's name is Maria Refugio Perez Ynojosa. She was born about 1882 in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico. She died on 8 January 1944 in Cocorit, Cajeme, Sonora, Mexico. I have her parent's names, but I do not have any sources. Maria Refugio's parents are Juan Jose Perez possibly born in 1860 and Maria Desideria Ynojosa also possibly born in 1860 If any one recognizes these names I would very much appreciate your help. I don't recognize the names that you shared, but I took a moment to look into what records FamilySearch has for Sombrerete during that time period. It looks like there are quite a few options! The civil registration birth records around 1882 have been at least partly indexed, but the baptism records for the Catholic church have not been indexed yet. If she was Catholic, this could be a good place to look for your great-grandmother If you follow this link, you can search through images of the books for 1881-1886: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939J-4291-9W?mode=g&cc=1804458&cat=309275. If you go through page-by-page, you may find a baptism record for her, which would probably list the names of her parents (and possibly even grandparents if you're lucky!).
