I am a consultant at the American Fork Family History Center and recently had a visit from a sister who needs a translation of a German document that her mother had regarding her German ancestry. I would greatly appreciate any help you might give us in translating the attached 2 pages of that document. Thanks you very much.

This is not a word for word translation, just the main points. Items in square brackets are unsure.

It is a marriage record, dated 16 June 1895 in Reinhausen, Bavaria [near Regensburg]

    Before the clerk appeared today

    1. unmarried tailor Johann Schmidt, Catholic, born on 29 January 1873 in [looks like Schreitweg], court of Stadtamhof [court district?] [note: Stadtamhof is a place name, on an island just north of Regensburg], resident in Reinhausen. Son of deceased day laborer Georg Schmidt and his still living wife Anna born Braun, residing in Regensburg.
    2. unmarried Anna Wessberger, Catholic, born on 12 July 1874 in Reinhausen, Stadtamhof court, residing in Reinhausen, daughter of deceased joiner/carpenter Johann Wessberger and his still living wife Mara born [Maurer], residing in Reinhausen.
    3. Witnesses: master tailor Joseph [Z/Garkant?], age 37, residing in Reinhausen, house no. 63
    4. joiner/carpenter Johann Süßbauer, age 33, residing in Reinhuasne no. [77]

Signed: Johann Schmidt, Anna M. Schmidt born Meßberger [note: ß = ss], Joseph [Z/Garkant/l], Johann Süßbauer

Thank you so much Sister Palmer for the information you provided with the translation. My patron will be so happy to have this record. I know she will be overwhelmed with all of the information you provided. I am very grateful for the FamilySearch Community site; what a wonderful asset it is.
