Im Jahr achtzehnhundert siebzehn, den drei und zwanzigsten Jäner, Nachmittags um zwei Uhr gebar in dem zu dieser Pfarrei gehörigen Filial Brandau Elisabetha Catharina Merz, des hiesigen Beisaß und Tagelöhners Adam Merz zweite unverheirathete Tochter, das dritte Kind, eine Tochter, die erste Tochter, welche den sechs und zwanzigsten desselben Monats getauft wurde, wobei sie sie Namen Anna Apolonia erhielt.

Als Vater hat sich zu diesem, wie zu dem vorhergehenden Kind bekannt: Philipp Roß, des weiland herrschaftlichen Knechts Philipp Roß zu Darmstadt nachgelassener dritter Sohn.

Gevatterin war: Anna Apolonia, geborne Sch__? des Ackermanns und Leutsch__? Adam Plöser zu Oberbeerbach Ehefrau, welche dieses Protokoll nebst dem Vater und mir als Pfarrer, der die Taufe verrichtet, unterschrieben und mit der Erklärung, daß sie des Schreibens unerfahren, unterzeichnet hat. <signatures>

In the year 1817, on 23 January, 2 p.m. in the branch Brandau belonging to this parish, Elisabetha Catharina Merz, the second unmarried daughter of the local resident and day laborer Adam Merz, gave birth to the third child, a daughter, the first daughter, who was baptized on the 26th of the same month, whereby she received the name Anna Apolonia.

As father of this child, as of the preceding child has confessed: Philipp Ross, the third son of the former lordly farmhand Philipp Ross in Darmstadt.

Godmother was: Anna Apolonia née Sch__?, wife of the farmer and ___? Adam Plöser in Oberbeerbach, who signed this protocol together with the father and me the pastor, who performed the baptism, and with the declaration that she was inexperienced in writing. <signatures>
