Looking for help with my Germans from Russia family from Wolka/Volka, Kovel, Volhynia
I am so excited to have found what I believe to be their village, or at least where they were for a bit, but am at a loss for how to proceed.
‘My great grandparents-
Edward Schultz LR6P-8G3
Mary Zielke LR6P-H33
They both had several siblings who also immigrated to the St Joseph, Benton Harbor Michigan area. It is from a sibling’s records that I found the village name. But now what? I can’t seem to find anything searchable for Volhynia?
I have other town names - his birth Kalisch Russia/Poland
or Edward’s brother Julius Schultz who lists Daekof Russia/Poland as his birth place
Mary’s sister, Bertha listed Wulke, Rowno but in another place listed Waulea Russia
Several just say Volhynia
‘Mary’s sister Amalia Zielke lists Joberueg, Volhynia, Russia in 1940 census
If you have knowledge of this area that could be helpful or just ideas of what I should do next I would really appreciate any help. Thank you!

Hello!
Have you searched these indexes yet?

I'll try and see if I can find any records for Wolka or any of the other towns you listed.

I did a quick search on the sggee.org site and found the births of two children for Eduard Schulz and Maria Zielke in Volhynia. The children are both listed on the FamilySearch site in their family.
Listed in sggee site:
Herman Schulz born on 29 Nov 1905 in Tomashew, Rowno, Volhynia - ROV 1905 (ROV fond 740/5/23)Pg 128, Register No. 779
Olga Schulz born on 20 Sep 1903 in Mydzk, Tutchin, Volhynia - TUT 1904 (ROV fond 740/5/18)Pg.188 Register No. 960
This information is extracted and provided in the members section of the sggee.org site and has references to to the church books from which the information was extracted. It says on the sggee site that the books are not online but in the archives in Rowno. I pressed some links and tried to follow where they went, and looks like the records are possibly in the Ukrainian Archives now.
Also found a link to the marriage record of Maria Zielke's parents http://agadd.home.net.pl/metrykalia/439/sygn. 40/pages/PL_1_439_40_0003.htm
(record no. 14 on the page)
Probably worth taking some time searching the sggee.org site to see if there's more there for you!
