    Land Register

    Name: Johann Höfer

    Place: Brünn

    Birth year: 1811

    Religion: Catholic

    Civil status: married

    Profession: none

    District: Mähren

    Joined on: 1 Aug 1835, at Br. Mariassy infantry, regiment No. 37, as a real doctor, with 8 years of practice

    Notes:

    His wife is a philosopher in Brünn, who studied medicine and surgery at the Josef (?) Academy in Vienna and got her doctor’s diploma in medicine and surgery from the same

    1840, 1st Feb, joined the 5th field artillery regiment

    1843, 16 Sep, joined the Dom Miguel Infantry regiment

    1845, 1 Oct, joined the E H Franz Infantry regiment

    [the rest of the document contains all the details of his service]

    On the last page, there is a note (about his retirement?): 1 Jan 1868, general commando in Graz, following the sub-ministerial decree Nr 4220 of 16 Dec 1867, signed by the magistrate

    Would it be possible to get the details of his service translated? When did he get to Otocac, that is where his wife is from, they married in 1853.

    @fricibacsi Basically, they have listed the dates and the names of the regiments he joined and the details of his service.

    Regarding your question, the document says that on 30 April 1848 he joined the Ottocanner border regiment No 2, and in 1853 he married Margaretha, daughter of the tradesman Wolfgang Següscic.
