Death record for Johann and Emil Birkholz.JPG

The researcher from Poland just sent me 8 new records for my family, some of them are very short--I can understand some of the information--but just can't catch all of it. I think it says the cause of death but I couldn't figure that out. Does it say the area they are from and the kind of work their dad did too? Thank you for your help! I started looking for this family in 2004, so excited to find some more of them! Thank you!

The two legitimate children of Michael Birkholz and Caroliene Tomerenke from Bialozewin both died of Halsbräune. A German dictionary defines that as quincy. It is an infection of the tonsils, or tonsillitis.

    #64 Johann Friedrich Birkholz, d. 20 December 1873 at age 4 years, 1 month, and 14 days

    #65 Emil Ludwig Birkholz, d. 31 December 1873 at age 1 year, 5 months, and 27 days

"Halsbräune" in old churchbooks usually refers to diphtheria, see German Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diphtherie
