How do I access the Akershus Prison records from 1872 -1878?
We think this is our great great grandfather's death record from the Akershus Prison Parish death records.

The link for your record is here (#2 in 1878): https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/2869/19.
Besides the dates of the record, his name and age, the 6th column of the left hand page indicates that he was sentenced to 11 1/2 years for "gr. Tyveri" which is probably "grovt Tyveri-grand theft". It also looks like a note for him saying that he died in the Rikshospital (in Oslo). I looked there, but did not find any death/burial records for this time period.
The right hand page has two notes concerning him. I think that the first note indicates that he died of a fractured skull as the result of a fall from the loft in the fortress (prison?) gymnasium.
The second note says that his body was not delivered to the "anatomikammeret-anatomy chamber". I am not really sure what that is, but it could be that some bodies of prisoners were delivered to medical schools so that students could use them for dissection. Anyway, that wasn't his fate. The record doesn't say what happened to his body.

Thank you! Our hope now is that we can find something in the prison records that tells us definitively that he is our's ( a birth place or date and/or list of family members)
