A google images search for ancient French symbols brought up some interesting possibilities...but not really the answer. Does anyone else have any ideas?

After seeing Karen's note about having gone the Google Image search route, I did the same thing and found a similar image at https://www.alsarando.fr/dobernai-a-barr-sainte-odile-2-2-2-2-2-2-2/
That made me wonder whether your images might also contain names and dates, so I took another look.
The first image looks like it has the name H. Georg Mathias Hogs/Hocs and the year 1780; he's likely the original owner/builder, and 1780 is likely the year the house was built. The middle image looks like it has the year 1686 and the initials A. H. The year 1686 is likely when the house was built. I'm not sure about the third image.
Does the name fit one of your ancestors? If not, who's the first ancestor you know of who lived in the house? You might be able to find the original owner in the records.

Charlotte thank you for this lead and you're right Karen the website and Charlotte's suggestion gives a good insight into a possible meaning. What is really intriguing is that my second image with what may be 1686 is identical to one they picture on the web site. My ancestors Jacques and Marie Anne Schweitzer lived on the street from 1839 until 1872. I'm not sure how I could go about finding who built the house they lived in....any suggestions??
This certainly gives me food for thought , Linda
