    Thank you for posting this information. Having some Welsh ancestors and I'm helping with my daughter-in-law's family tree I do admit to wishing there is a bit more variety in Welsh surnames, so as to make research easier. For instance in the British Army, Welsh regiments tend to have rather a lot of Joneses, so it will be Jones 123, Jones 345, Jones 567 or they will have nicknames to differentiate the different soldiers . If you have ever watched the film/movie 'Zulu' (based on a historical event at Rorke's Drift in 1879) you will see what I mean, at the very end there is a roll call, several of the survivors were named Jones.
