Do you have the details for the source document, it would help me translate (and read) some it better if i'm looking at the source. I'm used to reading these types of documents but this one is a hard one...

I agree with @Jordi Mathieu Sales; a link to the record from where you found it online is incredibly helpful. The image quality is usually better at the original website, and it makes it possible for helpers to compare the handwriting in your record to the handwriting in surrounding entries. Even knowing what commune the record is from would help, as we could then look it up ourselves.

@laurellenwebb1 This is what I can understand from the baptism record in Latin:
Joannes Theodatus Roth
In 1778, on 5 July, was baptized Joannes Theodatus Roth, born on the previous (?) day. I don’t see a reference to the parents of the child, but I can see that the record is signed by Johannes Deodatus Roth and Maria Anna Mettauer (possibly the parents of the child).
The godparents were Franciscus Melchior (?) Heinerich, and the godmother was Maria Anna Mettauer, leg. daughter of Dominicus Joannes Petrus Mettauer and Anna Maria Fellman (?).
