Titles of the Kings of Scots ...
I have found that whilst researching my pedigree which happens to be full of endogamy, that a number of Royals and Nobles have the wrong form of their titles listed on their profiles. One 'country' that has this problem is Scotland. There are many sites on the internet that list the title for the Kings of Scotland as King of Scotland. The correct title is King of Scots when translating the title from Latin. The people of Scotland are Scots, the country is Scotland, the throne, animals and land are Scottish. Genealogists need to be aware of each different Language and how it translates to another language.
I have placed sources on a number of the Stewart and Bruce Kings of the Scots as to why King of Scots is the correct title and not King of Scotland which so many people wrongly believe is true. This issue is one that not only needs to be discussed in other groups and elsewhere within the greater Familysearch community.
