The spelling of my great-great grandmothers last name is spelled incorrectly as Olm Fed in your database. Her name is Rachel Olmstead. How does that get corrected?

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

Further to what has already been proffered ...

Please be, aware; and, advised, that ...

'Yes', NOT all "Sources" can be "Edited" (ie. "Corrected").

Here are some "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

Why can't I fix indexing or transcription errors?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/why-cant-i-fix-indexing-or-transcription-errors

How do I correct indexing errors in historical records?

IF, you are cannot, "Edit" (ie. "Correct") a "Source"; THEN, ...

One thing, that you can do, is to make a "Note" of ANY such "Discrepancy" in the "Title" of the "Source"; and/or, maybe, include such in the "Reason", that the "Source" is attached.

    Just my thoughts.

I hope, that this may also help/assist, somewhat.

    Brett

That rather depends on which part of which one of FS's vast collection of databases you're talking about.

    @RobertHorn23

It would be most helpful if you could provide the URL of the page where you see the incorrect name. That would allow us to see the problem; and, thus be better able to assist you.

    Since https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2CF-BFT4

is not currently editable - as you wish - you can attach the record/index to your tree as-is and attach a note of the needed index correction(s) or leave the record unattached until it is editable. If you are only printing out the record then yes you can make handwritten correction on the printout to store in your files.

The index though incorrect allowed you to locate the record and your relative (so most will tell you the correction is secondary to searchability - which worked).

If I recall correctly - Familysearch assures users that the development team is working on a solution to make indexes 'more easily editable/corrected' in the future.
