Are there any police records available for Ireland for the early 1900's. I guess I'd need to look mainly in the 1930's

Thanks

The RIC ceased to exist in 1922 when partition split Ireland and you then had the RUC (Northern Ireland) and the Garda (Southern Ireland). I have pasted a few links that MAY be of help albeit that one is a book. You dont specify which geopolitical area you want to study.

There is a link here to the Garda (post 1922) that may be the best method for you. How can I get old service records of a parent or grandparent who served in An Garda Síochána?

Service Record details can be obtained from the Garda Museum and Archives Section, telephone +353 1 666 9998 or by e-mail to museum@garda.ie. Many service records for the Royal Irish Constabulary and the Dublin Metropolitan Police are also available.

It is probable that looking for data from the 1930s that you will r un into the 100 years rule - nothing on persons born in the last 100 years etc. Depending on your dates this may not be relevant but do bear it in mind.

    Hope that helps
