Is it common for spouse alias on birth/baptism record to be husbands last name?
Usually I have found that the mothers maiden name is entered. When it turns out to be the same as fathers last name, I grow suspicious or think there was a second spouse. Is it common or rare that the mothers maiden name is listed as same as husbands?

It is not necessarily a common occurrence but in 20 years of research I have seen instances where the mother's maiden surname is the same as her husband's surname.
Question for you: does the word "geboren" or the abbreviation "geb" appear before the mother's surname in the record? If so, this would indicate that this is the mother's maiden surname.
