Dolni Sloupnice, Bohemia

Several of my relatives were born in Dolni Sloupnice, Bohemia in the 1890's. The earliest date I can find in the places database for Dolní Sloupnice, Litomyšl, Bohemia, Czechoslovakia is 1918. What was it before that? That place also shows three different entries for the time period (1960 - Today).

 

The same situation exists for nearby Retova, Bohemia. Nothing before 1918.

Before 1918 many places in the area that is now Czechia are displayed with German place names, as much of the record keeping was done in German. Czech and German display names are stored; however, the default display language is set to German. That is why you will see "Gross Ritte" rather than "Velká Řetová" or "Untersloupnitz" rather than "Dolní Sloupnice."
