Scholl, Philipp burial record from Arago Nebraska - looking for German birth city
Translation request:
Hi, We are hoping to get lines 19 and 37 translated. This is the only clue we have as to where Elisabeth Költsch came from in Germany. These are the death records of her husband Philipp Scholl. 1825-1897 and Elisabeth Költsch 1827-1902 in Arago, NE. We know a lot about Philipp and almost nothing about Elisabeth. The big question is - where in Germany was Elisabeth born?

Hello Kent,
the first part of the location name is most probably "Rhein". The second part looks like "hai__n" or "bai__n". I cannot find any village or city that fits. However, it could be "Rheinbaiern" (or "Rheinbayern") the historic region now called "Pfalz" (Palatinate), see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palatinate_(region). This area is situated on the left (western) bank of the river Rhein, adjoining Baden near Karlsruhe and Graben. The province was under Bavarian rule after the Congress of Vienna (1815/16) until the end of WWII.
Note that there are several clusters of the name Kölsch (without "t") in that region, e.g. near Pirmasens, Neustadt, and the Moselle river (https://nvk.genealogy.net/map/1890:k%C3%B6lsch).
