Can anyone read the wife’s name in this marriage record?
These records come from Wangeritz, Naugard, Pommern. The middle marriage record on the left page, 15 May 1646 marriage between Christian Schwartz and ? I think the first name might have been a short one and written on that first line, and the last name looks like it starts with a West———?

Hello Christina,
I think it any proposal would only be guessing. My strategy would be to see if I can find another entry with a similar looking name, or at least other names or words with the same initial letter. If the bride comes from the same village then there should be other entries (baptisms, marriages, deaths) for that family.

Has anyone been able to read the last name on this bride’s marriage? I know the first name is cut off in the fold of the book. But could the last name be Westb—der?
