Michael Schwartz child’s baptism, but cannot find name
This is a record in 1696 in September in Wangeritz. It looks like Michael Schwartz and Regine Schwartz have a son, and I can read “genannt worden” but I cannot read a name. There is a blank before the period. Does it look like the scribe forgot to write the name?

Yes, there is an empty space where the name should be written so it does appear that the scribe forgot to write the male child's name.

Not only the name is missing but also the date! Only "im September" is entered above the blank space.
This record is remarkable in many ways. It states "hat ein Knecht namens Michael Schwa[rtz] Regine Schwartz zu fall gebracht", literally ",has a farmhand with the Name Michael Schwarz brought down Regine Schwartz". It could mean that this was the birth of an illegitimate child. Also baptismal witnesses are not named, just the words "Paten sind gewesen zur Nottauff(?)" = Witnesses have been for the emergency baptism

There are a lot of Michael Schwarzes in this community. Am I correct in assuming that if he’s referred to as a farmhand he is employed at another Schwarz family’s farm?

Not necessarily, could also be the farm of somebody else with a different name.
