Trying to sort out a family with the wrong father I have caused a bigger problem, help!
A have connections to a large many-branched family who tended to use the same set of names. I have a problem which I have tried to fix and now don't know what to do.
There were 2 men called George Fifield/Fyfield, the spelling varied, one born 1836 9K9V-FVDH, and the other 1835 MXRM-HXR. The latter is the correct George but the former had been attached in error. The wife is Jane Wells and they had 10 children. By detaching every single one from the wrong George and attaching the right one I must have done something in the wrong order and its all gone wrong. I now have The correct George is now married to Jane and they have 10 children. Unfortunately we now have Jane with an unknown spouse with the same 10 children. I have tried adding George as the unknown spouse and merging a lot but it won't let me. I have followed the instructions from help without success and am not touching it again without a parachute.

In order to collapse the family relationships properly, the best thing to do is add a husband named "george" with no other information other than deceased to Harriet where she is missing a spouse. Then merge your correct George Fyfield and george. That will correctly merge all the parent child relationships.
