TRACING DATA FOR GREAT-GRANDMOTHER MARTHA ANN ROBERTS (BENNETT)
MARTHA ANN ROBERTS (BENNETT) WAS BORN IN CORNWALL AROUND 1876. ACCORDING TO HER MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE SHE WAS MARRIED IN PIETERMARIZBURG SOUTH AFRICA ON 02 MARCH 1904 TO JOHN ROBERT ROBERTS (BORN IN 1878 IN UTRECHT, SOUTH AFRICA) THEIR KIDS WERE EUSTACE ROBERT B 1910, CONSTANCE MARY B 1915, ROWLAND JOHN B 1915, AND DOREEN KENT B 1911.
BACK THEN WAS IT POSSIBLE FOR A MARTHA ANN TO BE KNOWN AS MARY ANN? IT DOES SAY MARTHA ANN ON THE BACK OF MY GRANDADS BIRTH CERTIFICATE WHICH I HAVE. TRYING TO TRACE SOURCE DOCS ON HER BIRTH AND DEATH. KNOWING WHERE SHE DIED AND WHEN IS TRICKY. I HAVE A PHOTO OF JOHN ROBERTS GRAVESTONE AT STELLAWOOD IN DURBAN. UNFORTUNATELY, HIS DAUGHTERS NAME IS NEXT TO HIS. THERE IS A JJ BENNETT ON THE MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE SO THAT MAY HELP.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

The possibility of her name being Mary Ann is certainly one to consider. It introduces an extra layer of uncertainty so that, without other information to cross check, I would be reluctant to accept it.
I assume you are referring to the Mary Ann Bennett whose birth was registered in Apr/Jun 1875 in the Redruth district. There is also a Martha Ann Bennett in the 1891 census, age 15, born in Redruth, living with Mary Prade, a widowed aunt, and Mary's widowed sister, Amelia Gribble. Mary Ann's mother's maiden name was Merrin (from the GRO website). If you are prepared to pay the cost, it could be worth getting the birth certificate so as to know the parents' first names.
With the married names of the two aunts, a bit of hunting should then allow you to determine whether Mary Ann and Martha Ann in these two records are the same person.
Of course unfortunately even this would not prove that you have found the right person but it is worth pursuing.
Feel free to return here if you get stuck!
