@Carolyn Webber Hi Carolyn, this record is a 22 November christening for Rosalie Emalie Magdalene Rømer born 6 October 1857. Her parents are Johan Adolph Rømer and Johanne Magdalene Elisabeth Deighman. Johan is a tenant, lessee of a farm where he receives income with a fee payable to the owner. Living at Nipstrup M?? The next column witnesses are named. Note in last column: Died 10 September 1858. https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/en/billedviser?bsid=415824#415824,76614216 No burial date is given on the death record.

The family can be seen in the 1860 census with a new child. Clipboard01

Thank you Shari! You are wonderful!

Would it be unusual for them to have another Rose after this daughter died?

In the record that you attached, who would Karen Marie be? She can't be the daughter of Serise. (I think she is Therese in later records.)

Karen Marie is listed as a girl servant. What record do you have that might lead you to a name of Therese for her? Families often name another child after a deceased one, so sure they could have another Rose.

I'm sure you'll notice and correct the birth year for Johan Adolf Rømer (the father). He's currently showing in FS as 1 year older than his son by the same name. The census help you also give a birth place.

I fixed the problem with Johan being his own father. There were duplicates of several of the family members. I have the family back intact. The unnamed child is my direct ancestor:

What does this record say about this unnamed child?

Can you see this Ancestry page with a record for William Frederick Romer
