Heinrich William VOSS (born apprx 1799) Married Catherine SCHULTE and Had Large Family - Gandersheim
Many of their children came to America and settled initially in St Louis MO. Some later moved on to WIsconsin or Illinois. I do not think the subject couple ever came to America. In American records, some of the children said they were from Gandersheim Brunswick (present day Lower Saxony). Here is what I think I know about the VOSS children ...
1. Marriage record for William F. VOSS in 1856 (his 2nd marr) mentions the names for William's parents!!!! Parents: Heinrich VOSS and Catherine SCHULTE
2. Johann Bernard VOSS born approx 1821 arrived on ship New York at NYC, NY (7 Jun 1842)
3. Christian VOSS born approx 1820 or 1822 ditto
4. William F. VOSS born approx 1817, ship arrival said from Gandersheim Brunswick arrived on ship John Campbell at New Orleans (4 Jan 1848)
5. Heinrich VOSS born approx 3 Feb 1818, ship arrival said form Gandersheim Brunswick ditto
6. wife to be for Christian Voss (Christine Schussler); Christian was waiting for her in St Louis MO ditto
7. Heinrich Wilhelm VOSS born approx 1825 arrived on ship Howard at NYC, NY (11 Mar 1850)
8. August VOSS born approx 1825 ditto
9. Carl or Charles H. VOSS born 18 May 1819, immigrated to America approx 1846 died in Washington, Tazewell county, Illinois (1876)
10. Ernest F. VOSS born approx 1829 (my GG GF), immigrated to America approx 1850 was executor for brother Charles's estate in 1876
11. Ernest F. VOSS naturalization papers papers said he was from Brunswick (didn't mention
Gandersheim)
12. Christian and brother Ernest VOSS were living together in 1850 found in 1850 St Louis MO census
13. Heinrich Johann Ludwig VOSS born approx 1823, immigrated to America approx 1848 1900 census said he was from Brunswick (didn't mention
Gandersheim)
14. Christian VOSS and wife said they were both from Brunswick in 1860 census found in 1860 Chicago IL census (didn't mention
Gandersheim)
Would like to find this family group in Gandersheim Brunswick records with child births between 1817 and 1829 but have struck out so far. Looked for any mention of the VOSS surname or the SCHULTE surname and found very few which were no apparent connection.

Hello @Ron Blaha
I did a quick internet research and came to the following conclusion:
Online access to the church books of this region is probably not (yet) available.
The responsible archive which holds the original church books (or their duplicates) for the region is the "Landeskirchliches Archiv Wolfenbüttel" (https://www.landeskirche-braunschweig.de/index.php?id=926). You can send an email to archiv.lka@lk-bs.de to inquire the status/availability of the relevant church books. However, a detailed search for the records of your ancestors will probably require a personal visit to the archive.

@Ron Blaha great post. Most of the time, it is best to use "ask a question" - do this by selecting the arrow to the right of "new discussion". Asking a question allows you to accept the answer or let us know you would like more help. (I was able to change this post to a question for you.)
I will mark my response as a rejected answer because it only gives you some tips, not an answer to your question - then this will continue showing as an unanswered question and it should get more attention that way.
I am going to add your original communication to me as it has a great question :
"I did my first query in the German Genealogy section today. Also looked in all the localities in kreis Gandersheim Brunswick (present day lower Saxony) - see examples below ...
Ahlshausen, Astfeld, Badenhausen, Bartshausen, Bentierode, Beulshausen, Bittierode, Bodenburg, Bornum, Dankelsheim, Ellerode, Erzhausen, Gandersheim, Garleben, Gehrenrode, Gittelde, Greene, Hahausen, Hallensen, Heckenbeck, Helmscherode, Ildehausen Kreiensen, Kirchburg, Langelsheim, Lutteran Barenberg, Naensen, Orxhausen, Rimmerode, Seesen, Stroit, Varrigsen, Volkersheim, Wenzen, Windhausen, Wrescherode. (many of these records before 1814)
I think what would help me the most is to somehow find out the mailing address for an archive that has Gandersheim records in it. I need records in the period of 1817 to 1829 when my GG GF and his siblings were born. I do not see that period covered by LDS filmings. The parents for these children were Heinrich VOSS and his wife Catherine SCHULTE who must have married before 1817.
I also plan in the future to do one of those 20 minute consultations. But I thought I would send you a note first."
Be sure to do the 20 minute consultation - great place to start!
Sometimes we have to be patient until the volunteer with the needed skill set comes along. I am so glad you have joined us in this community and trust you will find some great help!
Enjoy today, Cindy

Correction: Heinrich Voss, born 1818, arrived in 1844 at New Orleans per the St Clair county history book written in 1892. Another Heinrich, Heinrich Johann Ludwig, was the one who arrived on 4 Jan 1848.
