The great grandfather I'm looking for is Harry C. Abery (also written as Abrey). I found him in the 1881 Canadian Census listed under his stepfather's name as Henry (the last name was transcribed as Obrey). I have his naturalization papers that states he came to the US in 1888/1889. I found him in the 1900 US census as living in Connecticut. His father George Abery died in 1871 and his wife Margaret was pregnant at the time. Harry C.'s older siblings ended up in an orphanage for a time in 1871 and I'm not sure where his mother Margaret was. I "think" maybe Harry/Henry was parceled out to a relative Edward Abrey/Abery but that's not a definite. The family is listed as Church of England but some members later on became Presbyterian. I've tried contacting the Anglican Archives in Ontario but I can't even tell them exactly where to look. I did find Margaret Abery's obit and it said she was a long time member of St. George's Cathedral in Kingston so maybe that's where he was baptised??
