Can anyone help? Searching for records of Lage surname in Prussia

I can't find any location named "Danske" in Meyers Gazetteer (https://s.meyersgaz.org/search?search=Danske) or GOV (http://gov.genealogy.net/search/index) . This is probably a misspelling. Have you any idea where in Prussia your ancestors came from or what year your GGgrandfather was born? Lage is a rather common name and it will be difficult to find records without additional info.

This will only save without comments. I found this on Ancestry. A few people had the same information. I do not know if this will help or not. If you have an Ancestry account, you can find it under "Search" and then "Public Member Trees". Just put in your ancestor's information. If you do not have an Ancestry account, just go to the nearest FamilySearch Center. Please let me know if I can be of further help. PaulaAnn

I see I wrote Ludwig Wilhelm Lage was from the area of Danske. It's actually Danzig, Prussia. My great-grandfather Ludwig Wilhelm Lage's death certificate in US shows his birth date was 12/1/1856 but it may not be exactly right. I haven't found any records with a middle name of August. Also, I have no idea who his parents are. I do know the parents of his wife Rosalie Johanna Mueller, (Müller) born 5/1/1857 to August Alexander Mueller and Julianne Schlicht in Danzig with Christening 6/1/1857 at Sankt Katharinen, Danzig Stadt, Westpreussen, Prussia
According to the records I have, he immigrated to US in 8/19/1891. He and Rosalie Mueller had a son in Danzig, Prussia in 3/16/1891, but looks like they married in 12/22/1885 in Ohio. These dates seem to be messed up or they came in 1885, married, stayed for awhile then went back to Prussia, had a son and shortly came back to US. Their son Bruno Willi Lage was baptized 4/19/1891 in Evangelische Kirche. Barbarakirche Danzign - Taufen 1869-1894
Thank you for your comments and I hope someone can help me fit some of these puzzles and he can be found in Prussia.

Hi,
Your Great-Great-Grandfather was most likely born at Preußisch Holland (Polish name is: Pasłęk), which is about 70 km south east of Danzig. I will try to send a copy of the birth entry in a seperate comment. But I think you can also access the church books of Pasłęk via familysearch. The birth date you have is correct.
I think that his sister Lina Lage was one of the god parents of Bruno Willi Lage in 1891. Her death certificate from 1908 put me on the trail of Ludwig Wilhelm.
Parents of Ludwig Wilhelm and Lina: Rudolf Lage and Charlotte Erdmann.

Hi,
Unfortunately my message containing the links to Lina Lage's death and Ludwig Wilhelm's birth has disappeared - I think it needs to be approved first.
I could try and upload the pdf-file containing the birth entry to the family search family tree of Ludwig Wilhelm (L1DL-W86) if you would want me to do that.
Regards, Christine

I have chills!!! I had a feeling he was not born in Prussia. Yes, you can upload, that's my gggf L1DL-W86
So, Paslek is the community in Poland? But, my DNA did not show up any Polish or does German include Polish descent on the DNA's?

Hi,
I actually think that Preußisch Holland (Paslek) was considered part of Prussia.
Sorry to say that I tried to upload the birth entry, which I had found on the website archion.de, into familysearch but got the message that it was restricted.
You might want to check whether you can get access to the church books of Paslek online or at a familyhistory center.
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/270749?availability=Family%20History%20Library
If they are restricted there, too, then the only chance to get them would be, I think, to get access to the German archion.de site, which is a paysite.

Hi,
Hooray, after I wrote an e-mail to familysearch support, the birth entry of Ludwig Wilhelm Lage got accepted and is now attached as a memory to his profile L1DL-W86.
Please don't replicate without the header of the page saying that the source came from the website "archion.de".

birth entry of Ludwig Wilhelm Lage:
Sorry, I don't seem to be able to upload the pdf-file from the German church book site "archion". I include the link but you have to be a paying member at archion to see it.
Alternatively, I could try and upload the file to Ludwig Wilhelm in the familysearch tree (L1DL-W86) as a memory.
Link to Lina Lage's death certificate:

That's great! I added it to Sources and it was flagged as restricted, so I wrote an email. I'm sure they had a hangup with the header, which I told them was required by the site. I will not edit any of the PDF, will leave it intact.
Thank you!

On Lina's death certificate, is the year 1908?
Also, her name has a first name, I can't read what it is, but looks like it starts with a W.
It also looks like she was 49. Is there a date of birth? Was there a husband listed?
Do they have the name of Johanna after Charlotte's name?
I need to learn to read German/Prussian, but if you would like to email me with translation of document, I would love it! I want to learn.
Sincerely,

Hi,
Here the answers to your questions:
Lina died in the year 1908.
The word before her name "Lina" is "Schwester", as her brother Friedrich is giving notice of the death.
She was 49, but there is no birth date in the document. She was single.
The word after Charlotte is "geborene" = née
I hope you will find many more of the Lage family members!
Regards, Christine
