Help with translation
I am seeking help particularly with two words in a birth entry. This is from Alingsås Landsförsamling Födelse- och Dopbok 1688 - 1730. Its location is SL Film #004359467 Page 268 (image 140 of 746) and this is the link : https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-67VS-TCG?mode=g&cc=1978773&cat=220676
This is the page :
The entry of interest is the second one for 31 October. The first word is one I don't know. I think it is "Eod. die"? which I think means something like "same day"? then I read . . Anders Olofsson son at . . then the second word that I don't know. It appears to be "vekary" or "wekary"? and finally the child's name Lars. Then follows the witnesses. I notice that two of these seem to have the same location? as the father. Does this have something to do with candles? The year on this is 1717. The oldest Clerical Survey record for the parish is 1732 and in that one there is no mention of a place with the name Vekary or Wekary.
Your help will be greatly appreciated. Reading this German scrip gives me headaches, especially with all of the abbreviations.

You are correct about the first entry, "Eod. die". It is Latin (eodem die), and means "on the same day". See the Latin Genealogical Word List here: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Latin_Genealogical_Word_List#E.
The second entry, Vekary, is probably a place which is listed in the Gamla Ortnamnsregistret for Alingsås parish spelled Vekared (alternately, Vekaryd, Weckaryd or Veckaryd). It is probably the same place as Vekary. See here: https://www4.sprakochfolkminnen.se/NAU-ortnamn/_helareg1.php?rubrik=%25&lokal=%25&nixrubrik=&nixlokal=&sockenort=Alings%E5s%20sn&haradort=%25&lanort=%25&belaggartal=%25&pubdatum=%25&landskap=%25&landomrade=Sverige&etym=&alfasort=&avdnr=1&sprak=alla&socken=%25Hela%20riket%25&harad=&fran=150&antal=50.
Keeping in mind that "ä" is often written "e", that lines up with a place-name in the Family Search Wiki for Alingsås Landsförsamling which spells the place as "Väckaryd". See here for that entry: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Alings%C3%A5s_Landsf%C3%B6rsamling_Parish,_%C3%84lvsborg,_Sweden_Genealogy.
I don't know if it has anything to do with candles.

Thank you so very much. I recognized the Väckaryd place name. That location is consistent with other family locations around Alingsäs. I was unaware of the ä to e association.
As for candles . . . somewhere, I can't find again . . I got the impression that vek.. something was translated candle? Too much information.

veke(n) [Swedish] = (the) wick [English]

Thank you for the clarification. I wasn't imagining it.
