Problem with edit box height
When I open an edit box with on the new person page it is about what I'd expect in width but it is very short. It only shows a single line at a time, and barely even that. I can't find any active corners to try to expand the box. I can scroll up and down but since the normal edit box is about 10+ lines this is a huge nuisance only being able to see a single line at a time.
I am using Firefox 78.15.0esr on a Mac. If your solution is to try a newer browser then I'll probably discontinue contributing to FS vs. having to buy a new computer.

As just another user, I can't comment on the edit box issues, but I must say I'm impressed that anything on FamilySearch works on that old of a browser since the website only supports the most recent version minus one of browsers (See: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/which-internet-browsers-are-compatible) for Firefox for Mac that would be version 106 and 107.
If you can't update to Firefox 79, that means you must be working with macOS 10.11 or lower, the current one being 13.0.1. This should raise a couple of concerns for you to be mindful of:
1) You are working with a system and browser that are full of security holes that are well known to anyone looking to exploit them at this point. I hope that you are not using that computer for anything other than FamilySearch. I certainly would not be using it for any type of online transactions such as banking.
2) If your computer is so old it will not update past macOS 10.11 (OS 10.12 was released in September 2016), I do hope you have a very good backup system in place. Your hard drive could crash and die any day and you will lose everything on the drive when that happens.

@BHAS1 There are some general problems with popup sizes. This is why you see the popup change sizes a few times when a popup is first opened. We are working on a general solution to resolve the issue for all popups.

@lyleblunttoronto1, I have a suggestion for fixing the popup size problem: stop using popups. We make do and live with them, because they seem to be here to stay, but we all hate them with varying degrees of passion.

I have also noticed that even when I do go to the trouble of chasing down the single row that has a source in it that if I click on the source that nothing appears to happen. In the old page a bunch of information would appear, including a URL i could click to view the actual source. That's impossible for me with this new page and will really make contributing and utilizing what others have contributed, impossible.

@BHAS1, I really think that you have finally come to the point that you are going to have to update your browser. It's just too old to expect all the new capabilities of current browsers to work. And you can't expect FamilySearch to make the entire website, which works fine with Firefox 106 and 107, backward compatible to Firefox 78 which is probably so full of security holes that even attempting to would be far too risky. To quote from Mozilla support, "Please note that support ended for the extended support release of Firefox 78 in October 2021, and it is not receiving any more security patches."
This is what happens when you click on a source title in Firefox 108.0.1:
All the information you expect to see shows up just fine.

@BHAS1, don't fear a browser update. It is a fairly routine procedure. You don't have to buy anything or reinstall. You can go to the Firefox website and update or just click update when Firefox sends you a notice to update.

@Chas Howell , my impression of his trouble, based on his initial post, is that Firefox 78 is the last update that will run on OS 10.11. To update his browser he needs to update his operating system. However, he implies his computer is so old that he cannot update his operating system because it won't run even 10.12.
If my impression is correct, he is trying to run FamilySearch on a computer that is no longer supported by the manufacture using an operating system that is past end of life with a browser that is no longer supported and has not had any security updates for over a year. This is just asking for trouble. He is also probably looking at an imminent complete hard drive failure.

Have had it happen once, it was not fun ):

Two years after submitting multiple error reports for this issue: problem has not been corrected and now I am frequently unable even to type or paste and save a “reason for changes” in edit boxes. I have had to resort to simply making changes without providing explanations, which is an unacceptable practice in documenting any type of historical information. I am so uncomfortable making changes without providing explanations that I’ve stopped attempting to make corrections unless the error is egregious (for example: children incorrectly attached to three sets of parents in spite of copious valid documentation). Please, please make correcting these issues a priority.

@grace316shockley can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing? Also, what operating system and version are you using? What browser and version are you using?
