Thought I'd post this info that was recently included in the Announcements section of the FTS Feedback Group….

FamilySearch is updating Full-Text Search. This process requires us to disable transcript editing to prevent problems in which edits impede our ability to follow privacy laws and respond to requests from the organizations that own the records. This approach helps ensure that we can continue to acquire and share even more records in the future.

Editing may not be available even when these updates are complete. We know this ability is important to our users, and we are carefully reviewing the editing tool. We’ll share updates as soon as they’re available. You can still use all other full-text search features as usual.

As I commented in that thread, transcripts are derived from the original record just as are indexed records. 'Restricted' records have there own rules which are understandable
